Snorkeling With Sea Turtles & a Cenote in Mexico

We took a short trip to Mexico - not in the RV, although that would be a fun trip for another day. This trip was a fast winter getaway to enjoy some snorkeling with sea turtles, cenote adventures, swimming, and drinks by the ocean.

On our adventure day, we started our day early at 7:30 with a pickup for our private excursion with Living Dreams Mexico. We then took a short 15 minute drive to Akumal Beach where we added a second guide, specifically for the sea turtle portion of the trip. We saw several green sea turtles, some sting rays and many fish. Anitra LOVES sea turtles, and swimming with them has been on her bucket list for a while.

For the second part of our trip, we drove a bit further to a private cenote - Cenote Takbeluum, located near Parque Dos Ojos, just outside of Tulum. This cenote had several fully enclosed chambers, separated by some narrow tunnels. We don't have fear of tight places, bats or the dark, but if we had, this would have been a good way to explore defeating those fears.

We finished up the day with a quick stop in Tulum for a photo at Ven a la Luz, a famous piece of art in the hotel district.

We've got a couple more videos coming from this trip, where we'll show you around our hotel and take a little trip to Playa Del Carmen's La Quinta (Fifth Avenue.)
